Street Improvement Plans
A street improvement plan is required when a project necessitates changes to the public right-of-way. Major projects include enlarging an existing road or building a new street. Minor projects include resurfacing a sidewalk and replacing the curb and gutter. Current survey information, existing utilities (underground and above ground), as well as proposed modifications, are all shown in a scaled plan view, together with construction comments and details, cross-sectional views, centerline profiles (including curb profiles), and a list of standard designs. Construction estimates and street sections at 25′ intervals are common.
